Kingdom and Desert Calendars

The same calendar structure (ten-day weeks, twelve-month years) is used north to south. Names are usually different, although there are a few overlaps, such as Waterday, the Lady's Moon, and so on. South of the Horn, the southern style holds sway, whereas above the line of the Hackerwood Forest, the northern style predominates. However, in the Horn and coastal areas just south of the Hackerwood, either style is as likely to be used, as those areas are generally a composite of southern and northern cultures.

In some areas, months are referred to by their numerical value: Firstmonth, Secondmonth, and so on; this is generally intended to avoid confusion between differing cultures. In the north, such naming conventions are sometimes used as a protest against the Northern Church's dictates, since the northern calendar is simply the southern one altered to replace "heretic" references with names based on to the Four Gods.
